Yes! I really did it...I got the chop! I told you I felt like a change, ha ha ha ;)
It really is short! What do you guys think? My hubby loves it as this pretty much the same style I had when we first got together. The only difference is I went a lot darker this time! I think the poor stylists at the salon thought I was some kind of crazy woman reeling from postpartum hormones when I arrived announcing that I wanted "all of it chopped off...and darker." Ha ha ha! They asked me lots of questions like "have you ever had short hair before?", "are you absolutely sure?" and right before she cut it my hairdresser asked "are you ready??" I was ready though, I've never been one of those people who's emotionally attached to their hair even though you would probably think I would be after it had gotten that long! But my hair grows so fast and has been lots of different colours so I think it's fun to change it up once in a while! :)
As you can see from the pictures, my colourist persuaded me to try balayage/ombre before totally going over to the dark side...and I have to admit I think he was right. Once again he was afraid I would regret it so he encouraged me to try this warm brown at the roots with some golden blonde pieces throughout the ends. I love it! It's really rich and warm without being too drastic a change from the blonde. And what lovely, caring hair stylists they all were to think of my emotional state afterwards...ha ha ha!
The cut is layered very choppy which means my natural wave came out - yesterday I wore it straight and sleek (after washing it) and today this is how it looked in the morning! I just sprayed a little dry shampoo & we were done! How easy and low-maintenance is that for a new mama?! Exactly what I was looking for :)
Let me know what you guys think and don't be too sad about saying goodbye to the longer locks...hair grows back after all! But I think I might keep it this way for a while, I really like it!
Stay Stylish!
