Mommy & Baby OOTD!

I only have outfit pictures from Eduardo & me to share as this particular day did not go quite according to plan! We were originally supposed to travel into London without Emilia which is why I wasn't with her in the morning so I didn't get a chance to take her picture!

The colours in this outfit are some of my favourites - I'm wearing a dusky brown tank top from Part Two and faded pink jeans by Ted Baker with rose gold hardware. My leopard flats are from New Look

Eduardo is wearing a skull & crossbones dribble bib from Jack & Jillaroo, a mint green "Little Dude" t-shirt from Carters and his grey leggings from Zara!

You can watch what I ate today, along with our outfits of the day in the video above!

Summer in the City!

Sorry for the late blog posts but the past few days have been crazy busy and I'm trying to catch up! This was my outfit from day 1 of Summer in the City! I wore a white Jack Wills dress that I bought in their sale recently along with my nude pumps from ASOS. I curled my hair using my curling wand and to do my eye makeup I used the Real Techniques Night Owl makeup kit

Emilia wore this sweet litte purple dress from The Children's Place along with a cream faux fur coat (not pictured) and her pink Converse. Her "Baby Vlogger" bow and Sofia the First headband are from Heather's Bonny Bows and she insisted in bringing Minnie and Dolly along with her!

Meetings in the City!

This is an outfit I wore for yet another trip into London! I'm wearing a nursing dress from Boob which is one of my favourites! It's stripy with 3/4 sleeves in a super stretchy cotton which is very comfortable & easy to wear. My denim jacket is quite old, from H&M! And my shoes are from New Look. I snapped these photos in the train station car park on the way home from London!

Emilia is wearing a denim OshKosh dress, pink t-shirt from Baby Gap, her pink Converse and a Minnie Mouse headband from Heather's Bonny Bows & pink bow from Layniebug Designs.

Eduardo is wearing a Mickey Mouse long-sleeve onesie from H&M, a dark navy blue star dribble bib from Jack & Jillaroo and navy & white pants from Baby Gap! He is also surrounded by Emilia's toys - she likes to lay them all out on top of him!!

Haul: Victoria's Secret, Urban Outfitters & Forever21!

Last week my sister Erika & I did some shopping in Bluewater and I am finally getting around to sharing what I picked up! I definitely kept our summer holiday to Sorrento in mind, however I still have a lot more things I need to buy in preparation for that (most importantly - bathing suits!!). Let's start with what I got from Forever21!

I got an olive green button down shirt which I think would look cute with my faded pink or tan pants...I also picked up a basic pair of bright blue shorts and two lightweight tank tops in navy blue and cream. I got a basic grey boxy tee and a flowy sleeveless blouse, also in dark grey!

In Urban Outfitters I picked up two items - a pretty blue & cream striped top with lace detail and a white kimono with pom-poms around the edges which I think would be a great beach cover-up!

From Victoria's Secret I got two pairs of pyjamas for our summer holiday...a candy stripe pink short sleeve pair (which are perfect for breastfeeding at night!).

The second pair consists of this lace-trim dark blue tank and some blue & white striped shorts.

Last but not least I got 5 pairs of underwear for £20 in the PINK store. These are all from their "boyshorts" fit/range.

I hope you guys enjoyed my little fashion haul! You can check out the video I made featuring all of these items above.

4 Month Baby & Postpartum Update!

$

Here's what Eduardo looks like at 4 months old! I definitely think he has developed from a tiny baby who sleeps all day to a proper little personality who needs a lot more stimulation & entertainment! It's so much more fun when they reach that age :) And it's lovely to see the interaction between him & Emilia! This month brought lots of teething, drooling & gnawing on hands/teething toys/anything else he can manage to pick up, as well as better hand-eye coordination (hence the picking up of things!). Eduardo has also begun to sit up lots more and we bought him an exersaucer which he really enjoys! He likes to sit in his highchair at mealtimes so that he is part of the family (although no solids yet - he's still just on the breastmilk!). And he LOVES to stand which is a big difference to Emilia. She always wanted to sit and didn't show much interest in standing till about 10 months whereas Eduardo will lock his legs and want to stand for longer periods of time!

Here's what I look like at 4 months postpartum (not much change at all from last month...). Sorry about the out of focus pictures, I need a new lens :( When the lighting isn't good it doesn't focus very well! I am at the same weight as I was last month as I don't plan to lose anymore but I have been doing some gentle strength training...nothing major though so don't expect any ab muscles, ha ha ha!

Style Saturday: Star in the Making!

This is one of my favourite kinds of outfits of the day - super casual & relaxed with leggings, ballet flats & an oversized t-shirt! I wore one of my new t-shirts from Forever21 that I featured in my most recent haul along with the Mother Tucker Leggings. My grey flats are so comfy and are from New Look!

I was also really happy to be able to get some adorable shots of Emilia with her daddy! She is so difficult to get a good picture of lately as she knows whenever I whip out the camera that I'm about to film her outfit of the day and she will stop whatever she's doing and run away or hide...then when I start taking pictures of Eduardo she'll do anything to get the camera's attention! Little diva ;) Her grey leggings with gold polka dots is from Zara Baby, her bow is from Ellie Rose Bows & Clothes and I think her top is from Tesco F&F.

Eduardo had a pyjama day! Although his pjs are very cute...these grey & navy star ones are from Next and I love them on him! Look at Emilia's pose...ha ha ha!

Mommy, Toddler & Baby Outfits!

This is a verrrry casual, simple outfit of the day perfect for furniture shopping at IKEA which is exactly what we did! I don't know what it is about that place but it seems like every time we go in we end up spending an entire day there...it's a flatpack vortex! But the good news is every time we leave we are one step closer to finishing furnishing our house. I am wearing my super slouchy boyfriend jeans from ASOS (about 5 years ago!), a blue & grey striped tee from Selected and my New Look grey suede flats.

Emilia is wearing a navy blue fishy dress & white leggings set from Bluezoo, a red bow from Layniebug Designs and white headband from Heather's Bonny Bows and socks from Next. When she eventually put on some shoes she wore her Hello Kitty Vans!

Eduardo is wearing a cute little nautical outfit (long-sleeve stripe t-shirt & navy blue combats) which was a gift...I have no idea where it's from! Sorry! His anchor dribble bib is from Tesco F&F.

We Love Stripes!

It's stripy central here today again on the blog...as you can tell I'm wearing my new top from Urban Outfitters which I really like! It's not the most slimming of tops as it kind of flares out a bit and it is quite short but I love the design & the lace detail! My jeans are my favourite GAP 1969 Always Skinnies and my shoes are (also stripy) from La Strada. I wore my hair in a short pony & wore my Orelia hoops, gold Scorpio necklace & Alex and Ani bracelets.

I'm really sorry that I didn't get any outfit pictures of the children today :( I did however snap this one of Jonathan with Eduardo (who 'lo and behold...is also wearing stripes. His are from Baby Gap!). This was taken in Frankie & Benny's where we went for lunch.

There are milk stains on my shirt but I liked this outfit too much to change so I continued to wear it anyway...breastfeeding/mommy problems, eh?! This is the shirt I got from Forever21 recently and I paired it with my faded pink trousers from Ted Baker & matching flats from LoveClothing!

Eduardo wore striped leggings from H&M, a "Little Man" t-shirt from Next and blue socks also from Next. His dribble bib is from Tesco F&F.

Emilia wore a pretty pink & purple dress from Dunnes Stores and her headband is from Layniebug Designs!

This was my outfit of the evening which I wore to a party I attended last week in London! Sorry the pictures are so dark but I took these when I came home from our night out and it was very late! I'm wearing a dusky pink top from Maje, Penney's/Primark skinnies in an olive/khaki colour and Red Herring nude patent peep toes!

Eduardo was a trooper and since I'm breastfeeding, he came along to the party with us! Here was his outfit of the night! A bat onesie from DPAM, brown trousers (no idea where they're from!) and a triangle dribble bib from Zara Baby.

Body Confidence After Baby #2!

$

If you had asked me to post a blog featuring full on pictures of me in a bikini three years ago (pre-baby) I would have shuddered at the thought. To be honest, I probably wouldn't have been confident enough to do it EVEN THOUGH my body was probably "better" then. I had a slimmer waist, perkier boobs and less cellulite but I lacked the most important thing of all - confidence! Now my body is far from perfect...two babies later I have the stretch marks & saggy skin to prove it. I'm breastfeeding so at any given time one boob is normally a bit bigger than the other, my belly button jiggles and at the end of a big meal I look like I have a food baby. But all of these things are reminders of what my body went through to produce two beautiful children, and I couldn't be more proud.

I see comments knocking women's confidence ALL the time, especially online. Whether it's on a picture of some celebrity, blogger or just a normal girl like me...some women make it their mission to point out every flaw in a ridiculous attempt to make themselves feel better about their own insecurities. I challenge you all to do the opposite of that, and post a picture of yourself in a bikini (or bathing suit, whatever you're comfortable in!) with the hashtag #ilovemybikinibody. Don't worry about flaws, imperfections or insecurities...they are all a part of you which is what makes you beautiful & different from everybody else. You can upload on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook - leave encouraging & uplifting comments on pictures of other women as well and let's spread some positivity for a change :)

Throwback Thursday: Our Italian Holiday!

$

I'm BACK! Long time no blog! What can I say, two kids...one recently turned 2 year old & one teething 5 month old plus no babysitter equals one busy mama! In fact, ever since we got back from Italy I've been focusing pretty much all of my attention on looking after the babies...no blogging, no vlogging - it's been quite full-on! Our babysitter finished up working with us right before we left for Sorrento so I have been up to my eyeballs in stinky nappies, toddler tantrums & a very HUNGRY little baby! Eduardo is going through some kind of crazy growth spurt/teething stage right now which means he is extremely clingy and not sleeping very much so I am exhausted and rarely get a moment to myself!

Anyway, I wanted to share some pictures from our recent holiday in Italy. The real purpose of the trip was to celebrate our 3 year wedding anniversary, where we took our annual family picture - how cool to finally have one with all four of us (even if it did take about 20192872727329657474 shots to get a decent one!!).

Our first day. Taken with flash hence the squinty eyes!

Breakfast at our hotel

Emilia swimming in the sea with her daddy :)

My little princess

Sleeping prince!

She loved trying on my sunglasses!

Naptime in our hotel room! In other words, playtime!

One of Emilia's signature poses! "Cheese!"

While the kids are asleep...mom & dad go crazy!

Our anniversary/last night in our hotel. They brought us a surprise chocolate cake & Emilia got to practise blowing out the candles for her upcoming birthday!

One of the many anniversary shots we took. It's crazy to think that in the photo we're holding, Eduardo was in my belly!! And I didn't even know he was a boy yet :)

Hope you enjoyed this long overdue blog post & some of our holiday snaps! I hope you're all doing well and I will (hopefully) be back very soon.

Fashion Friday: An Oldie But a Goodie!

These outfits of the day are actually from several weeks ago before we even went to Italy! They were taken on the day we went to Brighton for lunch. My family were visiting at the time but unfortunately almost everybody was hit with a horrible 24 hour stomach bug. Emilia actually ended up getting sick in the restaurant in Brighton which was awful :( Looking back on these pictures now I can tell that she wasn't 100%. Poor little thing.

I am wearing my pink Fiorucci pants with a navy, white & pink striped jumper from Jack Wills, pink flats from ASOS (about 3 years ago) and I'm pretty sure I was wearing a nursing tank top as well! Emilia is wearing a navy blue star dress with grey cable knit footless tights from Next, a navy cardigan from GAP and her Hello Kitty Vans. Her gold sparkly bow is from Ellie Rose Bows & Clothes.

Eduardo (who seems to have grown so much since this photo was taken!) is wearing a red dribble bib from Jack & Jillaroo, rolled up jeans from GAP and a bright blue onesie from The Children's Place...I think! It was a present so I'm not sure, sorry!

I hope you're all having a fabulous Friday! Enjoy the weekend!

Eduardo's 5 Month Update

$

0

Eduardo turned 5 months this month! I can't believe next month he will be half a year old! This month brought along some big changes...some easier to handle than others!

The first big milestone was that Eduardo has now started solids! So far he has mostly just stuck to a mixture of fruits, veggies & baby rice. At the moment he is on three solid meals a day (a mixture of fruits & baby cereal for breakfast and veggies for lunch & dinner). We started with purées but I have started to give him bits of finger food to play with and he loves it...even if most of it ends up on the floor :-/  So far his favourite foods seem to be bananas, carrots & sweet potatoes! I am still continuing to breastfeed him as normal and although the milk feeds have decreased slightly I'm still feeding at night so I haven't noticed a huge difference. Having said that when I first introduced solids I did get quite sore & engorged at times...but it seems to have settled down quickly!

We also went through a major teething phase where Eduardo was extremely fussy, didn't sleep much and kept us all up during the night. He was super clingy, upset and not himself at all...to put it lightly, it was awful! Especially trying to stay on top of everything with a very active toddler who wakes up at the same time every morning, no matter what! But thankfully we seem to have gotten through it and are at the end of this little rough patch. Although after all that Eduardo doesn't even have any teeth to show for it! I swear I can see those bottom front ones peeking through but they haven't come up yet! We tried Teetha camomile granules and baby Bonjela but the thing that Eduardo liked best was definitely his Sophia the Giraffe teething toy. I don't know what it is about that thing but he loves nothing better than to grab hold of it and give it a good gnaw!

Eduardo is also now able to sit up by himself, although he does flop over after a while and I definitely still need to put cushions around him just in case! But he is getting stronger everyday and with that comes more playtime & interactions with his big sister Emilia! This is probably the most fun & rewarding part of having two children close together. I absolutely love when they play :)

Throwback Thursday: 23 Years Ago!

It's been a long time since I shared a throwback picture - here's one from 23 years ago! I actually can't believe it's that long ago...just saying it out loud makes me feel so old! This was taken in October 1991, the year my sister Emma was born. She was 4 months & I was about to turn 4 years old. She was such a cute baby! I remember this jacket vividly (so 90's, ha ha!) and I was obsessed with this pink & blue plastic Sesame Street bag along with the toy I'm holding which is Little Witch from the Little Witch books (I loved them so much!). Now that I think of it, I feel like ordering a few of these for Emilia! Especially with Halloween coming up ;)

Ready for Autumn

I recently did some shopping for my autumn/winter wardrobe. Being that I was pregnant last year, it was in dire need of some new items to take it through to winter! I've been trying to shop smart and spend a bit more on fewer quality pieces. This striped jumper is 100% wool and from Whistles. I realise that I have an addiction to anything striped and/or navy however I have not been able to stop thinking about this jumper since I first set eyes on it in the shop 2 months ago. It's a light knit with "Voila" printed across it in sequins...I absolutely love it! I layered it over a plain white button down shirt from ASOS. Believe it or not, I didn't have one of these in my wardrobe (shocker!!) as it is such a staple. This was the cheapest item I got but as it's nicely fitted and made from 100% cotton, I decided it would probably stand to me. I paired this whole outfit up with these new black suede wedge boots, also from Whistles. I have gone through so many wedge boots in the past so when it came to spending a little bit more on these I know they will be worth it! They have about a 3 inch heel so are pretty comfortable and a zipper which is concealed at the back making them them super sleek looking. I am also wearing my GAP 1969 Always Skinny Jeans which I rolled up slightly at the ends.

If you'd like to see what else I picked up for autumn, you can watch my fashion haul/lookbook video below!

30 Days of Style

Hello there, November :)

It's my birthday month and one of my favourite times of the year. To celebrate that I've decided to give my neglected blog some TLC and post my outfit everyday of November. Some of these will feature Emilia & Eduardo's looks and others (like this one) won't - it just depends on the day...or what kind of a mood they're in!

Today I'm wearing some tan cropped pants from Zara, a light blue Tommy Hilfiger shirt and my brown suede H by Hudson boots. My earrings & bracelet are from Swarovski and my necklace was from my dad. On my nails is a (very chipped) Zoya dark red polish "Asia".

See you tomorrow! And I hope you enjoy this month of outfits.

Happy Halloween!

This Halloween was a fairly quiet one. Being that it was our first Halloween in our new home in the UK, we found ourselves a bit out of our comfort zone without the regular neighbours & friends that we usually spent the holiday with. Also the area we live in is quite a bit older where most of the children are grown up so trick-or-treaters were few and far between! So we saved that part for another day (see tomorrow's post) and instead spent the day baking cupcakes, carving pumpkins and we even set off a few fireworks for good measure! Emilia went to football, scored a goal (woo hoo!) and bagged some Halloween sweeties.

I'm wearing a black & grey striped nursing dress from Boob Design along with my black suede wedge boots from Whistles. Emilia is wearing her "back-up" costume, a cupcake! She got this a while back - it is from Old Navy. Underneath she is wearing some lavender jeggings from The Children's Place and matching cupcake socks. Her bow is from Ellie Rose Bows & Clothes

I hope you all had a safe & fun Halloween!

Hallowmas

Last weekend we celebrated Hallowmas, which was the day after Halloween (November 1st). This is a new & more child-friendly version of the traditional trick-or-treating where little ones "pillage the village", going up & down the highstreet in fancy dress between the hours of 11am and 4pm. In exchange for a donation to the food bank, each child got a trick-or-treating bag and all participating shops hung black & orange balloons outside their fronts and handed out sweeties to the kids. This was a completely new concept to us having just moved to the town four months ago but I have since learned that this was their first "Hallowmas" too so it was a new experience for everyone! Jonathan and I went all out by dressing up the whole family (any excuse, eh?!) and we all had a lovely time. Aside from being lots of fun for the kids, it was also a wonderful way for us to get better acquainted with our town. We got to know a lot of shops & local businesses which we'd never even noticed or had the chance to go into yet.

I dressed up as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz (though I changed my footwear afterwards in exchange for a more comfortable pair!). I got my costume, tights & a little basket with a dog inside (not pictured) from Amazon. My "ruby slippers" are from Irregular Choice and my lipstick is Rimmel Kate lipstick in 01. Emilia went as Sofia the First (her choice) and we got her entire costume from Amazon, as well as Eduardo's who went as an adorable monkey - complete with a banana toy! Jonathan's costume was a bit of a mish-mash of Edward Scissorhands and a zombie...ha ha ha!

Hope you enjoyed this fancy dress outfit of the day - a bit different from my regular style!

Happy 4th Birthday Sina!

Sunday was a very special day for our little Sina Socks as she turned four years old! I know I always get very soppy when I talk about her but that's because we share such a strong mummy bond. We both got pregnant around the same time and she taught me so much about childbirth & motherhood...I don't care how silly that sounds! Watching her give birth to five puppies and then transform from my little baby into a nurturing mother was a life-changing and amazing experience that I will never forget. Added to that is the fact that she is a wonderful & good natured dog. Sina is probably the most easy going & friendliest of all our pups, she will greet anybody with kisses & cuddles, is fantastic with children, loves her walkies, is super loyal and never growls (even when the rest of our dogs are giving her grief or if Emilia plays too rough). I probably trust her the most of all my dogs...although not with a plate of food, she would gobble that up in a heartbeat! And she has a strange taste for crayons too...but aside from that I trust her with my life ;)

It was a grey & rainy day which is why I'm wearing my wellies! These are the Hunter Regent Savoy boots in black. I'm also wearing grey high-waisted skinny jeans from Zara, a cropped grey t-shirt from Forever21 and leather jacket from H&M. On my nails is Barry M nail paint in "Nightshade" (a glossy black). Emilia is wearing her pink Peppa Pig wellies which we got from Boots, a navy blue cardigan from Baby Gap, matching leggings from Next and her t-shirt was a gift from Japan. She is also wearing a gold bow from Ellie Rose Bows & Clothes.
